May 4th- The 1st tournament of the 2019 season was later in the year than normal due to the aftermath of Hurricane Florence in September 2018, but it made the 1st tournament morning very exciting for the 51 boat field.  The only problem was, the bass did not get the memo and decided not to participate very well.  There were 22 limits, but the weights of those limits were extremely low for the most part.  The tough day did not stop Brian Bell and Austin King from bringing home the top spot.  The duo weighed in 5 bass weighing 16.12# and also had big fish weighing 6.40#.  Bubba Barnett and Timmy Brasch edged out Randy and Jordan Brown with 11.74# and 11.32# respectively.  Billy Paderick and Jesse Grady were 4th with 10.37 and Jim Hipkiss and Rusty Brown were 5th with 10.24.  Click the button below for the full results

MAY 25- The 2nd qualifier of the 2019 season occurred with the lowest river levels we've seen since the summer of 2018.  The low water levels proved to be really good for some, and not so good for others. 27 boats weighed in limits and only 36 boats weighed in fish.   The day was definitely and day for Father/son teams with 4 of the top 6 finishers being father/son teams.  The father/son team of Rick and Ricky Foss were too much to handle for the 57 boat field.  They had a 5 fish limit weighing 18.73 and big fish for the tournament topping the scales at 5.09#. Jim Hipkiss and Rusty Brown finished 2nd with 5 fish weighing in at 15.23.  The father/son team of Carl and Greg Milligan finished the day in 3rd place with 14.35.  Brody Brown and Carl Whittington were 4th with 13.55.  The father/son teams of Jeremy and Chase Miller and Eric and Garrett Brown were 5th and 6th with 13.15 and 12.44 respectively.

JUNE 08- The 3rd tournament of the year was met with drizzling rain during check in and potential thunderstorms throughout the day.  But the weather did not scare off the 48 boat field.  River levels remained low like the May 25th tournament, and East winds had the Neuse at a standstill for most of the day.  This did not deter 31 teams from weighing in a limit however.  And two of those limits were great bags.  The team of Mike Whitehurst and JC Haddock took home the top spot with 5 bass weighing in at 19.71#, with a 5.52# kicker.  Toby Eason and Marty Griekspoor trailed the top spot by 2.60# with 17.11# to finish 2nd. The duo also had the big fish of the tournament with a bass weighing 6.38#.  3rd-5th place was a tight race with less than half a pound separating the 3 spots.  Andy Little was 3rd with 15.77#,  Monte Morgan and Chris Cox were 4th with 15.52#, and Brody Brown and Carl Whittington were 5th with 15.32#.  Josh Brown finished in 6th place with a 5 fish limit of 13.79#.

The final qualifier of the year brought the smallest field of the year with only 34 boats.  Conditions proved to be tough for the anglers with low water in the Neuse and Northeast-East winds stopping the river.  17 boats weighed in a limit and only 20 boats weighed in fish.  Congratulations to Greg and Carl Milligan on taking home the top spot and big fish.  They topped the scales at 14.45 with a 4.90# big fish.  Brody Brown and Carl Whittington finished 2nd with 14.04 and Jim Hipkiss and Rusty Brown finished 3rd with 12.87.  With the 3rd place finish, Hipkiss and Brown locked in Angler of the Year honors.  Congratulations!

The 2019 Classic saw completely different weather conditions on day 2 than day 1.  Day one was HOT, with temperatures in the low 90's.  23 of the 34 teams weighed in a limit on day one with 5 limits topping 14 pounds.  Antwan Moore and Antwan Moore Jr led the 1st day with 14.82.  Dennis Boykin and Red White weighed in the big fish on day one with a bass weighing 5.16.  During the 1st day, conditions started to change due to an approaching cold front.  Winds shifted from the Southwest to the Northwest.  This wind change caused the Neuse to start backing up and river levels rose over a foot overnight.  Day two started with mid 60's temperatures,  winds from the Northeast and cloudy/overcast skies.  Highs for day two never made it above the low 70's.  This drastic weather change did not keep the 34 teams from catching fish.  20 limits were weighed in on day two and 7 of those limits were over 15 pounds.  Roger Griffith and Otto Hecht weighed in the big bag of the tournament with 5 bass weighing 20.31 to add to their day one bag of 13.67 to claim the win with a 2 day total of 33.98.  The pair had a 5.95 pound bass and a 6.31 pound bass in their bag.  Jimbo and Cody Tyndall finished 2nd with a total of 31.51 and day 2 big fish topping the scales at 6.69.  This fish was also the big fish of the year.  The rest of the top 5 consisted of Jacob/Josh Brown (29.71), Zeb West/Harold Herring (29.65), and Paul King/Bradley Stain (28.07).
